To become a member at Ground Zero simply come and ask us during lunch on a game day, you'll find us near the sign in hut. We will give you a simple form to fill out and provide you your first UKARA stamp. On your 3rd game please remember to bring proof of name & address ID, and the £13 to cover yearly membership.
We can only sign up individuals who participate in our games.
Professionally printed membership cards are issued within 2 weeks of signing up.
Please ensure that you hand in all applications as early as possible on the day, as it can be quite frustrating and time consuming when 30 people try and hand in forms when we are packing up!
Common Questions:
-
Q. Does having GZ membership automatically get me a
UKARA membership?
-
A. Yes, but only after you fulfill the criteria. As you have
to be over 18 to get a GZ membership, then you will be
registered on the UKARA database as a matter of
course (as long as the UKARA form has been
completed and handed in with the GZ membership
forms) The UKARA forms are kept by us, and stamped
on each visit. Once you accumulate 3 visits in a period
of no less than 2 months we will automatically register
you on the UKARA database.
-
Q. My gun, or my parents gun, is all black, but I am under
18. Can I play with it on your site?
-
A. Yes, UKARA is "policed" at the point of sale. Once you
have your gun, we do not stop people and ask them
about their purchase or the legality of it, in the same
way we don't stop the cars coming into our site and ask
for their registration documents to prove it was
obtained legally either.
Q. What is an RIF?
-
A. RIF stands for realistic imitation firearm.
Q. Can I sign up with GZ as I am under 18 years of age?
-
A. No, at the moment as under 18s you cannot legally
purchase a Realistic Imitation Firearm (such as an
airsoft gun) there is no need to sign up for GZ as a
member. You can sign up as a 17 year old if your
birthday is within a year, as we will keep your UKARA
form and only add it to the database when you hit 18.
-
Q. Why is it that people I know, who are under 18, have
their own guns?
-
A. Either they purchased their guns before 1st October
2007 (when the VCR bill was passed) or someone over
18 has purchased a two-tone gun for them. This stops
it being a RIF.
